Types Of British Council Scholarships without IELTS 2022:

Let’s begin with the list of scholarships offered by the British Council to students studying outside of the United Kingdom.

1. Commonwealth scholarship:

Applicants do not need a formal test. The only entry requirement is that candidates must be aged between 18 and 25 and have at least one year of post-secondary education, with a focus on business, engineering, or science courses. Candidates who have already completed an undergraduate degree are also eligible.

It is expected that applicants will be fluent in English – particularly spoken English – so no written exam will be required. For international students, this is a scholarship program that covers all of their costs. Candidates have the opportunity to pursue their master’s and doctoral degrees on a full-time basis.

2. British Chevening Scholarship

Unlike most other Scholarships from Commonwealth Countries, Chevening Scholarships do not require candidates to have an IELTS score. Candidates are accepted through a number of criteria including academic achievement and potential, leadership skills, and how well they will be able to contribute positively both in their home country and in their host country.

Applicants who apply directly through The British Council with OISC certification are automatically assessed against these criteria so it is possible that someone may be awarded a Chevening scholarship even if they didn’t meet the English language requirement. However, while it is possible you could win a Chevening Scholarship without having an IELTS score.

You may want to reconsider if your application requires one since only students who can offer proof of their English ability will receive funding. Students have the opportunity to earn masters and doctoral degrees from universities in the United Kingdom. There is no requirement for previous professional experience. There are currently 1,800 students receiving financial support from the Chevening government scholarship to continue their education.

3. Scotland’s Saltire Scholarship
