Subject کہتے ہیں ۔ مثلا
Aslam is catching fish.
مندرجہ بالا فقرے میں Subject , Aslam ہے کیونکہ Aslam کے بارے میں یہ بات بتائی جارہی ہے کہ وہ مچھلیاں پکڑ رہا ہے۔
Predicate
کسی فقرے میں Subject کے بارے میں جو کچھ بھی بتایا جاتا ہے اسے predicate
کہتے ہیں ۔ Predicate دراصل کسی Subject کے بارے میں کوئی خبر یا اطلاع ہوئی ہے ۔ مشا :
Aslam is catching fish.
مندرجہ بالانقرے میں”is catching fish” در اصل Predicate ہے کیونکہ یہ
اسلم مینی subject کے بارے میں بتائی گئی ایک بات ہے۔
